This portable gas generator comes in four models, from 2,500W to 4,500W peak output, so you can match the power to the job. It is built for yard, lawn and garden work, camping, RV trips and home backup power, and the S2500is and S4500is include a CO sensor.

A gas generator makes its own power from fuel, so it can run for as long as you keep it fueled, with no wall outlet needed. Always run it outdoors and well away from windows, doors and vents.

Choose your model

• S2500is: 2,500W peak, 1,900W rated. About 17 hours of run time at 25% load. CO sensor.

• S4000is: 4,000W peak, 3,200W rated. Open-frame gasoline generator with a 208cc 4-stroke OHV engine, a 1.98-gallon fuel tank and about 72dB of noise at 23 feet under 50% load.
• S4500is: 4,500W peak, 3,600W rated. About 20 hours of run time at 25% load. CO sensor.

Good to know

Rated (running) watts are what the generator can supply continuously. Peak watts are a short burst for starting motors and compressors. Add up the running wattage of everything you plan to power at the same time and keep it below the rated output of the model you choose. A portable generator is not designed to run an entire home.

Who this is not for

Anyone who needs to power an entire home, central air conditioning or other heavy loads at once, or who needs to run power indoors or in an enclosed space.

Safety and care

• Run it outdoors only, at least 20 feet from the house, with the exhaust pointed away from windows and doors
• Never run a generator in a garage, shed or any enclosed space, even with the door open
• Let the engine cool before refueling, and store fuel in an approved container away from heat
• Check the oil level before each use and follow the manual for maintenance

Frequently asked questions

Which model should I choose?
Add up the running watts of the items you want to power at the same time and pick a model whose rated output is above that total. Choose a higher peak rating if you run motors or compressors.

Can I use it indoors?
No. Gas generators produce carbon monoxide and must only be used outdoors in open air, even with a CO sensor.

Does it have a CO sensor?
The S2500is and S4500is list one. A CO sensor is an extra safeguard and never a reason to run a generator near the home. Call 1-800-680-4080 if you have questions about a specific model.

Can I bring it on a plane?
No. Gas generators cannot be transported by air.
